Shari is well educated in the field of Senior Health Management that includes a graduate certificate in Gerontology from the USC Davis School of Gerontology and over 20 years working as a Professional Social Services Coordinator for seniors living in Affordable Housing.

Additionally,  Shari spent 4  years, as chair for the Commission on Aging in Riverside,  CA. retiring after 6 years due to the Covid epidemic. 

I have worked in senior healthcare for 34 years. Adult day care, Assisted Living, Alzheimer’s Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Continuing Care Retirement. Have taught classes to family caregivers and run support groups. Author of three books “From Darkness Into Light” and “The Complete Resource Guide for Baby Boomers”and “The Complete Resource Guide for Baby Boomers Second Edition”.

My desire to help people began at an early age for my patient, loving and kind parents, both who worked in the medical field, were influential role models in my career choices. Not having the proclivity for sciences, becoming a doctor like my Mother was not going to be a part of my journey, yet my parents’ spirit and the inbred desire to be of service that comes from our Filipino heritage, paved my way into a career in helping people navigate their and their families’ lives around health challenges especially associated to aging, particularly as it relates to Alzheimer’s Disease and related Dementias. I have been fortunate to work for organizations where I have effectively used my personal and professional experiences, and have never had to compromise who I am. Curating strong relationships allows me to recommend honorable colleagues and encourages me to be involved with like-minded individuals who have the same passion and desire to serve our community.

As founder of AP Comp, a web development and digital communications firm serving mission-driven organizations across Southern California, I hope to bring expertise in digital strategy, community outreach, and storytelling to support IDCC’s mission of advocacy, education, and improved dementia care. I am especially passionate about using technology to expand awareness, accessibility, and connection for individuals and families impacted by dementia.

Tami Holden is a Hospice Community Educator with 24 years of experience in community outreach, education, and compassionate end-of-life care. Currently with Acacia Hospice. Tami is dedicated to advancing awareness, supporting caregivers, and improving the quality of care for individuals living with dementia.

Chloe loves to travel, especially to the water. She  putting her feet in the ocean. She also loves to go on long walks, chase seabirds and squirrels. Her favorite foods are watermelon, chicken and pup cups.
